Jalapeno Tuna Salad Sandwiches

This recipe isn’t like other canned tuna recipes, this is a kicked up version of a classic tuna salad sandwich. This canned tuna recipe included pickled jalapenos and a little lime zest. YUM!

Jalapeno Tuna Salad Sandwiches

  • 2 Cans Tuna - Drained
  • 4 Tablespoons Pickled Sliced Jalapenos - Minced
  • 2 Large Carrots - Shreaded
  • 1/2 Small Red Onion - Minced
  • 3/4 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 Teaspoon grated Lime Zest
  • 1 Squirt Lime Juice
  • In a medium bowl break up the drained tuna into smaller pieces. Add jalapenos, carrots, red onion, mayonnaise, lime zest and lime juice. Stir all the ingredients and blend thoroughly. You may need to add a little more mayonnaise if you prefer more.

    Cover the tuna salad and let chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Use your favorite bread for a tasty, spicy, delicious tuna salad sandwich!

    ** To make this tuna recipe lighter in calories you can replace half the mayonnaise with low fat plain yogurt.
